I don’t know if these tracks are actual or not but I just don’t care of the release date. It’s simply because their atmosphere fits perfectly to these hot summer-days no matter if they are older or not.

The first one is produced by Gomma‘s Tomas Barfod and features some nice trompets and the second one by Chilly Gonzales comes along with a superb piano-loop. Both tracks are pure heat, pure temperament and are full of sex!

New video and track of Flying Lotus from his newest longplayer Cosmogramma.

First of all I thought “ohhh nooo, please don’t show me the outer space anymore in an experimental & psychedelic track. There are too much of these artists using this vibe to visualize their music.” But then the video-makers aka Special Problems put in some sequences of a jump & run 8bit game which I liked a lot… You are thinking, okay… retro games are also nothing special in this genre but I like the combination and there also some other cool elements – It’s a greater journey as I thought of before into the fantastic sound-world of Flying Lotus. Big like!

Way too hot these days! That´s why I´ll show you a cool summer breeze sound by Nikit: Ocean View. Allways when I listen to it, I feel a smooth breeze of the ocean and not the wind of a fast car crossing my way at a traffic light. Hope you feel the same! See you next time again at digitate FM. There is one thing about Cologne that came to my mind recently: Apart from 70s Krautrock legends Can, the c/o Pop and a quite impressive dome, (if you’re into domes… and I am not) there is not much I would associate with that city spontaneously.
Oddly enough, two kick ass records I had the pleasure of listening to the last time came from…. you might have guessed it – Cologne. The first one was the amazing Foreigner by (now) Post-Krautrockers Von Spar, the second one now Science Piñata, recorded by a couple of multi-instrumentalists and flatmates called PTTRNS (pronounced as Patterns). .
One can hear some Klaxons teaming up with The Whitest Boy Alive and joining Fugazi for a weekend trip. But it’s more like PTTRNS creating something new out of it instead of just quoting the ones mentioned before in their music. If you want to dance you can do so, if you’re more the drummer type of guy who prefers to sit down and listen… it works out, too! So after a 7inch, a split 7inch and a split CD (also available on vinyl) they finally decided to hit us with their first 9-track full length CD / Vinyl. So if you’re – like me – not into domes, or Cologne is just too far away, you might be interested that PTTRNS are performing live on this years Melt! festival, so we want you all to party with ‘em there!
