New York – Portland – Tokyo – based avantgarde noisepop – whatever you want to call it – quartet Deerhoof, besides, one of my all time favorite-bands, just released their tenth (!) album, Deerhoof vs. Evil, wich is probably their most catchy and easy-to-listen output so far. Furthermore they’re endowing us with this lovely video of Super Duper Rescue Heads! You shouldn’t miss a chance to see them live, for they’re having probably the best drummer of our time!
This is a track that was made during the recording of Tyskerhar‘s Vega EP and would have probably never been finished or released it it wasn’t christmas time, where people have lots of time for doing things they wouldn’t normally do.
Icelandic infamous rave quartet Steed Lord just stated that they’re in a super funky mood, which made them give away their ReSet! Remix of 123, If You Want Me for free. So if you needed proof that Santa Claus is an Icelander, what else would it take to convince you?
When my favorite band announces that they’re recording a new album, it feels like a huge birthday party, just without the birthday, got it? The guys I’m talking about are french cyberpunkers Kap Bambino. And even there’s no release date, title, whatsoever yet confirmed, we should celebrate this great news somehow, maybe with digging out a remix, Birdy Nam Nam did for Dead Lazers a while ago…
I planned on posting this already weeks ago. But too much stuff to do and too little time did its part that I’m gonna present you this one with a giant delay, something for the classics section.
Nicki Minaj’s first official full length release ain’t too fresh now anymore and most of you have already either heard or at least heard of it. I think there is not much of a discussion, that with Mrs. Minaj, we’re dealing with the greatest female MC, maybe with the best MC of our time. So it’s a bit sad that her debut Pink Friday turned out much worse than I hoped to be, but then, it’s still better than I expected. And even though not too much of an Eminem fan, I have to say, that in Roman’s Revenge both, Nicki and Eminem pretty much do Champions League Hip Hop and really show what – in album lenght – could have been possible for her debut. If you like Nicki, and if you like what you’ll hear in the preview below, I’d recommand you Nicki Minaj’s Beam Me Up Scotty Mixtape, rather then going for Pink Friday.
Tyskerhar still stands for Seek Zag Lazer teaming up with Ms. Mao Dou Mao, this time with another track for free download. Oh is a prelude to a release of two, maybe three EPs in the next time. Stay tuned for the upcoming first one, called Vega. probably before or around Christmas. Extra shouts go out to Glideside for his support to this track!
