It’s been only a year since BNR Trax has been hatched from the egg and it is still spick and span! Eleven lovely releases can be registered for label-chef Alex Ridha and another one is already on its way. Looks like a big happy familiy and new blood will move up unstoppable. But so far he rallied round BNR Trax 01-10 and put the best from the first decade on vinyl and CD plus in a digital version including seven more tracks! And this new-born baby must be celebrated! So we’ll meet at Club Gretchen this friday (24.02.11) for a festive ceremony in which relatives like Shadow Dancer, Bobmo and Audionite will shake things up. Get ready for practicing your hip swing with tracks like “Calcium” by Strip Steve & Das Glow or Para One‘s “Animal Style“.

Komplex, feinsinnig, fabelhaft.
Mit seinem Album „Black Sands“ machte Bonobo im letzten Jahr in der mittlerweile “geschlossenen” Maria halt um uns mit seiner Musik zu begeistern und zu erfreuen. Es war ein wunderbarer Abend mit wundervollen Klängen.
Nun haben sich wiederum einige Künstler berufen gefühlt sich an die Songs seines letzten Albums zu begeben, um sie neu zu interpretieren. Und da diese ihr Handwerk durchaus verstehen, dürfen wir uns glücklich schätzen am Donnerstag Abend die Veröffentlichung des neuen Albums „Black Sands Remixed” im Gretchen zu erleben. Die zahlreiche und namenhafte Unterstützung verspricht einen frühen Start in das Wochenende!

Ich packe meinen Koffer und nehme mit…eine Tüte voller House-Tunes, eine Schachtel gefüllt mit Electro-Sounds und mein liebstes Hänselchen. Denn am Freitag (03.02.12) führen wieder alle Wege nach Kreuzberg ins heimische Gretchen, wo uns eine wilde Nacht erwartet wie sie im Buche steht! Im Gepäck räkelt sich bereits ein märchenhaftes Line-Up, das nur darauf wartet endlich an die Decks springen zu können und bei unserer Pink-Pong Nacht alle Füße zum Glühen zu bringen. Neben Malente von No Brainer Records, über den ihr HIER mehr erfahrt, und dem Münchener Jungspund Noize Generation ist auch Niko Schwind von Stil Vor Talent mit von der Partie, der mit Techno- und House-Klängen ganze Scharen zu verzaubern weiß. Uns hat er schön längst in seinen Bann gezogen!

Wir können es jetzt schon kaum erwarten ganz bald die Pforten des Gretchens zu öffnen und wenn auch ihr mit dabei sein wollt, dann schreib bis Freitag eine Mail an viki(at)pink-pong.de. Zu gewinnen gibt es 2×2 Gästelistenplätze. Das wird was!

Mit Der U1 Richtung UK

Wie die Zeit schon wieder verflogen ist! Es liegt nun schon fast ein halbes Jahr zurück, dass uns DER Londoner Indie-/Electro-DJ in Berlin besucht hat. Doch dieses Mal müssen wir uns dicke Stiefel und Mäntel anziehen und mit der U1 oder U6 ins tiefe Kreuzberg fahren, denn am Samstag, den 28. Januar 2012, wird der feine Herr Alkan dem Gretchen ordentlich einheizen.
Erol Alkans Dj-Set hatte schon in unserem alten Wohnzimmers Icon jeden Raver zum dehydrieren gebracht und die Tanzausdauer durch Tracks wie “Lemonade” (siehe unten) auf die Probe gestellt.

Nun wird er es ein weiteres Mal wagen, die Hallen seines Labels Phantasy Sound verlassen, die Nordsee überqueren und schließlich durch den Eingangspavillion des Gretchens wandern. An seiner Seite hat er seinen Landsmann und ehemaligen Trash-Resident Rory Phillips, der für ausgefallene Remixe unter anderem für The XX, Digitalism und Gossip steht.

Wir verlosen mal wieder 3×2 Gästelistenplätze. Schreibt einfach eine Mail an viki(at)pink-pong.de bis Samstagmittag und sagt uns, warum gerade ihr dabei sein müsst. Ansonsten übt schonmal eure Tanzschritte und stay tuned!

At the end of 2011 you could admire how he was dropping some fresh house vibes at Gretchen Berlin. Now it’s 2012 and the Berlin-based DJ with british origins Lars Moston is back with a full package of hot sounds! Early in February his brandnew remix for the french DJ-duo DRO & LODZY will be released and we already adore it! Here you can taste this pearl of electronic music:

But the young man has even more in petto! Only few days ago he launched a special DJ mix for January 2012 called “Last train to Ostkreuz”. What a wonderful homage to one of Friedrichhain’s greatest corners where our oval office is seated by the way ;) This mixtape features three brandnew Lars Moston remixes and tones of tasty tunes from acts like Frag Maddin, Teenage Mutants, Monkey Safari and Malente, who will be in on it at our PINK-PONG party at Gretchen Berlin on the 3th of February.

13 years of funky electro house – that means 5 grand LP’s and countless tracks and remixes for well-known artist from all around the world. This gentle young man knows how things roll in the biz and especially 2011 was one of the best years for Malente, a talented german DJ and producer we had the honour to play Pink-Pong with (check the interview here).
His own record label No Brainer Records, which he established only two years ago, could manage to grab the second position in the German Club Charts 2011 poll and got 4 tunes in the German Club Charts DCC annual 2011 listing. Two of them amongst the top 40 including Malente‘s and Zero Cash‘s “I’ll be there“:

But 2012 is going to be even bigger! He just started the new year with his monthly represented Resident Advisor charts. This time for January ’12 in which acts like Monkey Safari and NT89 are all-inclusive…check the full TOP 10 list here.
However, this little whiz kid is a real multi-tasking talent. Right now he is working on a new collaboration with Treasure Fingers, whose output will be the brandnew “Crusaders EP” that is coming late January. Get a fresh pretaste here:

Still the best is yet to come in February when Malente gets fetched back to our beloved hometown Berlin City. On the 03.02.2012 we are throwing the next Pink-Pong party at Gretchen Berlin and nobody else but this mister niceguy will spin the turntables.
So stay tuned for some more information! This is going to be a huge year, for Malente as well as for the Pink-Pong family!
