You guys remember myspace? Walking down memory lane, just remember how we checked our profile every morning and that inexpressible satisfaction, when we had the “comment approval” alerts after we logged in. In the early days, when it was not yet en vogue to disable HTML for commenting, cheesiness sometimes knew no limits, thinking about the infamous “thanks for adding me” templates, or the numerous “pimp my profile” editors.
Some people even had friends (or more likely knew someone, whose sister had a friend that knew someone) who really used these glitter rose, kissing dolphin – sundown gif animations to show their gratitude to the ones that just accepted their friend requests.
Why am I telling you all this? Well, Hype Williams just did M.I.A.‘s XXXO music video that is an overboarded reminiscence to exactly that time, meeting all your long-lost diamond-panthers, gold-roses and bling-bling fonts… and last but not least: the goddamn swans!
Romain Gavras did it again! The director of the new M.I.A. vid has finished a new masterpiece. After the incredible ‘Stress’ vid for Justice he comes up with a over-brutal shortmovie which shows in 09:06min a scenario which is worldwide known as Genocide! Fucking disturbing material…
